Training

Intercultural intervention

The Marguerite de Champlain Pavilion offers a training session entitled: “Intervening in a cultural context”. It is given in different contexts: community or professional. Our information sessions allow practitioners to better understand the techniques and methods of intervention in an intercultural context. They help strengthen the professional skills of staff and their ability to respond ethically and effectively to cases of domestic violence.

We also make sure that workers are aware of the nature and scope of violence against women, and of the various risk factors. In this way, the training enables staff to have the knowledge to avoid any form of discrimination and prejudice against these women.

In addition, our training serves to promote the adaptation of the services of the various stakeholders to the needs and realities of women of cultural diversity. In this sense, they develop a good ability to adapt to the realities experienced by each of these women. Finally, our training courses aim to inform workers on the various issues related to domestic violence while providing them with the tools to effectively guide victims.

If you would like more information about these sessions, please do not hesitate to contact us. It will be a pleasure for us to answer your questions.

Training "When things become tough in my family"

This 3-hour awareness program exposes the consequences of domestic violence on children’s development. Domestic violence, whatever its form, affects many aspects of a child’s life, including their physical health, mental health, educational health and the child’s social functioning. Also, the child is at risk of developing harmful lifestyle habits such as serious disturbances in eating or sleeping habits. There may also be risks in the use and abuse of illicit substances such as alcohol or drugs. In addition, there are risks of inserting the child into a trajectory of criminality or violence such as prostitution, delinquency, violence in romantic relationships and more.

This training includes a 28 minute video and intervention procedures for educators and anyone working with children.
